Belinda Waddington
Owner and Principal Speech Pathologist
Belinda graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) in 2007 and began working in private practice straight after her graduation. After gaining several years of experience in both clinic based and school settings, Belinda set up her own mobile private practice focusing on servicing schools and preschools around the Hills area.
The decision to specialise in paediatrics was easy for Belinda as she comes from a large extended family and has been around children her entire life. She started out as a private music tutor whilst finishing high school and university before transferring these skills across to speech pathology.
Belinda has three young boys of her own at home which adds to her knowledge on the time constraints that parents face when it comes to organising therapy sessions around work, school and extra-curricular schedules. Through this knowledge Belinda aims to provide therapy sessions at preschools and schools whilst keeping in regular contact with both parents and teachers allowing her to create a wholistic environment to foster each child’s communication and language skills. Belinda also aims to provide homework in a variety of forms (card games and treasure hunts are her favourite!) to give families realistic options to complete their follow-up work that can involve the entire family. Belinda believes that therapy should be fun and interesting making it easier for the children to remember the information they are learning.
When Belinda isn’t at work she enjoys spending time with/running around after her three boys – Patrick, Joshua and Samuel as well as her husband Greg. She enjoys camping with her family, getting competitive in any type of game, from Monopoly and card games to a backyard game of soccer with her boys, as well as finding time to read a good book or watch a good romantic comedy movie.
